🌎 Personal style has no names

Personal style has no names. Why do people use labels to describe their supposed personal style? That's what I'm going to talk about in this text.

I'm Nycka Nunes, a personal style consultant, among other skills. I've been working in the fashion industry since 1981, and I'm one of the most experienced style professionals in the world.

A few years ago someone asked me, "Does a person have to dress alternatively every day to be alternative?"

My answer sheds some light on this issue of names, the need for some to use them, and the reason why those who really have style don't use them. The answer, copied below:

"The hard truth is: you don’t really want to know if you need to wear alternative clothing every day to be alternative. You want to know if you’ll be accepted by alternatives if you DON’T wear like them (or at least not every day).

The real answer is: The more you try to fit as an alternative person the more you get lost from who you really are and what’s your true style. Your true style doesn’t have a tag. But requires some information on fashion as a communication tool and self knowledge to be developed. This is possible only through the advice of an experienced stylist with appropriate methodology. This stylist is me.

With your true style properly developed you’ll attract naturally people who appreciate someone like you and you can join various different tribes linked to your interest being respected in all of them."

Those who are more insecure may think my answer is crazy. It gets worse for them: it is 100% based on my personal experience that it is possible to be yourself and belong to various groups. And it is also an answer that is completely aligned with the profile of my work.

If your style does not express your personality - and this is something that only a stylist with my qualifications can help you achieve - you have no style. And it doesn't matter what your favorite fashion blogger says about it. Many fashion bloggers and influencers have no style. The standard for those who are part of my universe is higher.
